Soft-drinks giant's domain names to be consolidated

NetNames, Europe’s eading domain name management specialist, has been appointed by Coca-Cola Enterprises to help protect its key trade services and initiatives online. Coca-Cola Enterprises is responsible for the manufacture and distribution of Coca-Cola products in the UK, supplying approximately 240 million cases every year.

NetNames’ Platinum Service, which manages the domain name portfolios for a third of the FTSE 100 companies, will protect vital website addresses that are used for marketing Coca-Cola Enterprises’ initiatives and trade services including ‘Coke Pub and Bar’ and ‘Coke Vending’. NetNames will manage Coca-Cola Enterprise's domain names centrally to guarantee they are monitored and renewed without fail. NetNames Platinum Service will also give the company increased visibility of potentially malicious registrations made by speculators and cybersquatters.

In 2006 Interbrand named Coca-Cola the world’s most valuable brand, valued at $67billion, $10billion ahead of IT giants Microsoft and IBM.

A dedicated NetNames senior account manager has been assigned to proactively manage the portfolio and will assist Coca-Cola Enterprises with the implementation of a comprehensive domain name strategy to support its online marketing goals. Prior to appointing NetNames, Coca-Cola Enterprises managed its online brand protection in-house.
