From 6 December 2011, Afnic, the .fr TLD registry will extend the eligibility to register .fr domain names to residents and legal entities who have their registered office or principal place of business in the territory of a Member State of the European Union.
Afnic will also allow residents and legal entities to apply for the following ccTLDs which have previously been closed for registration:
- .re (Reunion)
- .wf (Wallis and futuna)
- .pm (St Pierre and Miquelon)
- .tf (French Southern Territories)
- .yt (Mayotte)
The same rules will apply as for the .fr domain name.
