Background of .Bid

NetNames has been given notice that Famous Four plan to open the .Bid new Top Level Domain registry on the 31st March 2014. The .Bid gTLD will be supported by Neustar as the back-end provider. The .Bid TLD will be an open registry and will offer the following registration periods:-

Trademark Sunrise 31st March 2014 to 30th May 2014 ✔
Landrush No Landrush phase  
General Availability 8th June 2014 ✔

Famous Four will be offering Sunrise registrations to all Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH) verified mark holders on an End-Point basis and for a minimum initial term of two years. Sunrise orders can be placed via your NetNames Domain Management Portal or via your Account Manager. Should you still wish to place any trademarks with the TMCH, please contact your Account Manager.

.Bid will not be offering of a traditional Landrush application period for non-TMCH registrants.

Registration Info

  • The .Bid gTLD will be available to any applicant without restriction 
  • Registrations can be for 3 to 63 characters 
  • .Bid will support IDN registrations in Danish, German, Spanish, Finish, Chinese, Swedish, Portuguese, Polish, Norwegian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Korean, Japanese, Icelandic, Hungarian character sets (as already supported by Neustar). 
  • Applications made in the Trademark Sunrise phase will incur a one-off Sunrise Access fee which will be billed in the next invoice period and is non-refundable.

New gTLD analysis report
