Introduction to .DATE


NetNames has been given notice that Famous Four Media plan to open the .DATE new Top Level Domain registry on the 27th April 2015. The .DATE gTLD will be supported by Neustar as the back-end provider. The .DATE TLD will be an open registry and will offer the following registration periods:-


Trademark Sunrise 27th April 2015 to 29th June 2015 ✔
General Availability 1st July 2015 ✔

Famous Four Media will be offering Sunrise registrations to all Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH) verified mark holders. Any valid duplicate applications made during the Sunrise period will be resolved by means of an auction after the close of the phase on or after the 29th June 2015. Sunrise orders can be placed via your NetNames Domain Management Portal or via your Account Manager. Should you still wish to place any trademarks with the TMCH, please contact your Account Manager.   Famous Four Media will not be offering a Landrush phase, passing directly after Sunrise to a First Come, First Serve General Availability phase on 1st July 2015.

Registration Info

  • The .DATE gTLD will be available to any applicant without restriction;

  • Registrations can be for 3 to 63 characters

  • .DATE will support IDN registrations in German, French and Spanish script;

  • .DATE is not eligible for blocking under the Domains Protected Marks List (DPML) rights protection mechanism;

  • Applications made in the Trademark Sunrise will incur a one-off Sunrise Access fee which will be billed in the next invoice period and is non-refundable.
