Background of .Gop

NetNames has been given notice that dotGop (The Republican State Leadership Committee) plan to open the .Gop new Top Level Domain registry on the 28th April 2014. The .Gop gTLD will be supported by Minds + Macines as the back-end provider. The .Gop TLD will be an open registry and will offer the following registration periods:-

Trademark Sunrise28th April 2014 to 30th June 2014✔

General Availability7th July 2014✔

DotGop will be offering Sunrise registrations to all Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH) verified mark holders. Any valid duplicate applications made during the Sunrise period will be resolved by means of an auction (to be confirmed) after the close of the phase on the 30th June 2014. Sunrise orders can be placed via your NetNames Domain Management Portal or via your Account Manager. Should you still wish to place any trademarks with the TMCH, please contact your Account Manager.

DotGop will not be offering of a traditional Landrush application period for non- TMCH registrants.

.Gop Information

Registration Info

  • The .Gop gTLD will be available to any applicant without restriction
  • Registrations can be for 3 to 63 characters
  • .Gop will support IDN registrations in Spanish local script.
  • .Gop will not be eligible for any DPML product
  • Applications made in the Trademark Sunrise phase will incur a one-off Sunrise Access fee which will be billed in the next invoice period and is non-refundable.
