Background of .Hamburg

NetNames has been given notice that Hamburg Top Level Domain GmbH plan to open the .Hamburg new registry on the 14th July 2014. The .Hamburg gTLD will be supported by as the back-end provider. The .Hamburg TLD will be an open registry and will offer the following registration periods:-

Trademark Sunrise14th July 2014 to 13th August 2014✔
General Availability27th August 2014✔

Hamburg TLD GmbH will be offering Sunrise registrations to all Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH) verified mark holders on a first come, first serve basis. Sunrise orders can be placed via your NetNames Domain Management Portal or via your Account Manager. Should you still wish to place any trademarks with the TMCH, please contact your Account Manager.

Hamburg TLD GmbH will not be offering a Landrush application period.

.Hamburg Information

Registration Info

  • The .Hamburg gTLD will be available to any applicant as long as one of the WHOIS contacts (Admin, Registrant or Legal) with an address in the Metropolitan area of Hamburg, Germany
  • Registrations can be for 3 to 63 characters
  • .Hamburg will support IDN registrations in German
  • .Hamburg is not eligible for blocking under any Domains Protected Marks List (DPML)
  • Applications made in the Trademark Sunrise phase will incur a one-off Sunrise Access fee which will be billed in the next invoice period and is non-refundable.
