Background of .IRISH

NetNames has been given notice that DotIrishLLC plan to open the .Irish new Top Level Domain registry on the 17th March 2015. The .Irish gTLD will be supported by Afilias as the back-end provider. The .Irish TLD will be an open registry and will offer the following registration periods:-

Trademark Sunrise17th March 2015 to 16th May 2015✔
Landrush Phase21st May 2015 to 20th June 2015✔
General Availability25th June 2015✔
Afilias will be offering Sunrise registrations to all Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH) verified mark holders. Any valid duplicate applications made during the Sunrise period will be resolved by means of an auction after the close of the phase on the 16th May 2015. Sunrise orders can be placed via your NetNames Domain Management Portal or via your Account Manager.   Afilias will be offering a traditional Landrush application period for non-TMCH registrants. Contact your Account Manager for more details on how to apply during the Landrush.

Registration Info

  • The .Irish gTLD will be available without restriction
  • Registrations can be for 3 to 63 characters
  • .Irish will support IDN registrations – details to be confirmed
  • .Irish is not eligible for blocking under the Domains Protected Marks List (DPML)
  • Applications made in the Trademark Sunrise or Landrush phase will incur a one-off Sunrise Access fee which will be billed in the next invoice period and is non-refundable.
