.KOELN Specifics

Background of .KOELN

NetNames has been given notice that NetCologne plan to open the .KOELN new Top Level Domain registry on the 12th June 2014 2014. The .KOELN gTLD will be supported by Knipp as the back-end provider. The .KOELN TLD will be an open registry and will offer the following registration periods:-

Trademark Sunrise12th June 2014 to 13th July 2014✔
Custom Phase14th July 2014 to 12th August 2014
Landrush Phase26th August 2014 to 4th September 2014✔
General Availability5th September 2014✔

NetCologne Registry will be offering Sunrise registrations to all Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH) verified mark holders on a first-come, first-serve basis.. Sunrise orders can be placed via your NetNames Domain Management Portal or via your Account Manager. Should you still wish to place any trademarks with the TMCH, please contact your Account Manager.

.KOELN Information

The Custom period allows (future) Domain Holders priority registration of Domain Names if they can demonstrate a special bond to the City of Cologne.

NetCologne will also offer a Landrush stage from 26th August 2014 on a first-come, first-serve basis with decreasing prices for each day starting from €100,000.

Registration Info

  • The .KOELN gTLD will be available without restrictions.
  • Registrations can be for 3 to 63 characters
  • .KOELN will support IDN registrations in ASCII local script.
  • Applications made in the Trademark Sunrise phase will incur a one-off Sunrise Access fee which will be billed in the next invoice period and is non-refundable.
  • Applications made in the Landrush phase will incur a one-off Sunrise Access fee which will be billed in the next invoice period and is non- refundable.
