Background of .Mockba

NetNames has been given notice that the Foundation for Assistance for Internet Technologies and Infrastructure Development (FAITID) plan to open the .Mockba new Top Level Domain registry on the 10th June 2014. The .Mockba gTLD will be supported by ISC as the back-end provider. The .Mockba TLD will be an open registry and will offer the following registration periods:-

FAITID will be offering Sunrise registrations to all Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH) verified mark holders on a first-come, first-serve basis. Sunrise orders can be placed via your NetNames Domain Management Portal or via your Account Manager. Should you still wish to place any trademarks with the TMCH, please contact your Account Manager.

.Mockba Information

FAITID will be offering of a traditional Landrush application period for non-TMCH registrants after a second phase of Russian-only trademark applications. This short phase allows registrations on a first-come, first-serve basis of any strings not registered during the Sunrise phase. Contact your Account Manager for more details on how to apply during the Landrush phase.

Registration Info

  • The .Mockba gTLD will be available to any applicant without restriction in the Landrush and General Availability phases
  • Registrations can be for 3 to 63 characters
  • .Mockba will support IDN registrations in ascii characters only.
  • .Mockba is not eligible for blocking under the Domains Protected Marks List (DPML) programme
  • Applications made in the Trademark Sunrise phase will incur a one-off Sunrise Access fee which will be billed in the next invoice period and is non-refundable.
  • Applications made in the Landrush Programme will incur a one-off Landrush fee which will be billed in the next invoice period and is non- refundable
