Global insurance and financial management giant AXA became the first major brand to launch a new gTLD.

CIRA launched a Registry Lock for .ca domain names in April. It is of particular value to high-traffic, high-transaction websites, such as e-commerce or financial services sites that regularly deal with large volumes of personal and confidential consumer information.

.CLUB gTLD Launched 7 May And Quickly Becomes Third Largest New gTLD

The .club gTLD launched on 7 May and within 24 hours of General Availability became the sixth largest gTLD. As of 11 May there were 37,806 registrations making it the third largest of all new gTLDs behind .guru (55,985) and .berlin (47,554).

.LONDON Domains Available For Application

The .london gTLD is now available for interested parties to apply for. It has been claimed there were 50,000 pre-registrations. It is almost certain that there will be well over 100,000 registrations by September.

Launch Of Chinese gTLDs Pushed New gTLD Registrations Beyond 600,000

The gTLDs, .在线 (.online) and .中文网 (.website), are now the fifth and fourteenth most popular of the new gTLDs to have launched.

SIDN, .NL Registry, Publishes 2013 Annual Report

The 2013 annual report published by the .nl registry, SIDN, highlighted that the number of .nl domains secured with DNSSEC grew from 1.3 million to almost 1.7 million – far more than in any other TLD.

Sunrise Launch for .NYC

New York City’s Mayor Bill de Blasio launched the Sunrise period for .nyc on 5 May until 20 June, beginning a five month countdown towards the launch of General Availability in October 2014.
