.CO.COM Releases Tens-of-Thousands Premium Domain Names

Tens of thousands of premium .co.com domains were released in early June. The registry believes that the domain names released are far more valuable than the standard registration fee, but they want to get .co.com domains registered and into the hands of those who would develop them, helping to raise visibility and awareness.

Half Of 3.5 Million Domains Registered In Spain Are .ES

Half (50.04%) of the 3,451,863 domain names registered in Spain are .es domains, according to April statistics compiled by the .es registry, Red.es.

First Cyrillic TLD .РФ Turns Four

The first domain under Russia’s Cyrillic ccTLD and the world’s first Cyrillic TLD, .РФ, was registered on 12 May, 2010. Since then, 820,538 .РФ domain names have been registered, of which 651,161, or nearly 80 percent of the total, are delegated, which is five percent more than last year, when the number of .РФ domain names grew by 3.8 percent.

.UK Launches Second Level Registrations With 50,000 Registrations In First 24 Hours

As of 10 June, Nominet welcomed domain name registrations to second level registrations. The launch got off to a great success with over 50,000 registrations in the first 24 hours, making it one of the fastest selling new domain releases on record, and beating the first day sales for the entire current batch of new gTLDs by a large margin.
