Verisign Reports 280 Million Domains Worldwide
The number of domain names under management around the world topped 280 million at the end of the second quarter 2014, with four million domain names added.
But it appears the growth rate is slowing. The increase of four million domain names globally compares to the second quarter of 2012 where 7.3 million plus domains were added.
Swiss Registry To End Domain Registration Service For .CH Domains
The SWITCH Foundation will stop selling .ch domain names from January 2015. Registrants will be advised that their domain names, as they come up for renewal, will need to be transferred to an approved registrar.
